OADC Webinar: A Toxicologists Perspective on Mixing Marijuana and Opioids with Alocohol

When a crash, assault, or premises injury involves alcohol or drugs, the science of toxicology can play a pivitol role. This session equips OADC members representing properties, restaurants, municipalities and private entities with essential knowledge on how to utalize a toxicologist when handling claims under Oregon's dram shop and alcohol service liability framework. Dr. Carla Kinslow will demystify blood alcohol content (BAC) interpretation — including how factors such as body weight, metabolism, and timing affect readings — and examine how drug and alcohol interactions can complicate causation arguments. OADC members will gain insight into how to effectively deploy a toxicology expert at deposition and trial, with real-world case scenarios drawn from vehicle crashes, physical altercations, and premises safety disputes. Whether you are defending a bar, a restaurant, a private venue or a municipality, this presentation will sharpen your ability to evaluate the science, cross-examine opposing experts, and build a stronger defense.
